Many people grin when they see the name, Dancing Porcupine. I've had people ask if I work
with porcupines, if I teach dogs how to dance, and even had a guy roll down his window at a
stop light to ask if I'd teach him how to dance. I didn't.
In some ways, Dancing Porcupine really is about dancing - how we can dance in harmony and balance through
life with all beings. It's also about finding the dance within ourselves - remembering who we truly are and
embracing our excellence.
As a fifteen year teaching veteran, I've had my share of experiences with all sorts of creatures - eight year olds with
missing teeth, overly exuberant four leggeds, and everything in between. What's deep in my heart is being a teacher.
I teach because I care.
Are you a porcupine?
Porcupines are misunderstood creatures. When they're feeling safe and respected, they're
gentle. But when they feel threatened, they retreat or lash out. If you or your pet has ever
felt unbalanced enough to react strongly instead of acting calmly, you're a porcupine.
Porcupines really DO dance, you know. They get up on their hind feet and wave their
paws back and forth.Click here to see it on YouTube!
